Healthia walking for change at Oxfam’s 2019 Trailwalker

A handful of Healthia’s support staff teamed up for the Brisbane Oxfam Trailwalker to join more than 300 other individuals walking for change. As part of the nation-wide Trailwalker event, Oxfam helps to support those in need around the world; promoting education, ensuring access to clean water, teaching skills to grow food and fighting for rights.

From Friday, 21 June to Saturday, 22 June 2019, Healthia’s Group CEO Wes Coote, along with Glen Richards, Darren Stewart, Lisa Roach, Dean Hartley, Glen Evangelista, Madeleine Delahunty, and Mark Woelders swapped their creature comforts for an intense 27-hour, 100km walk across the D’Aguilar National Park.

“The senior management team of Healthia are very aware of the need for teamwork, so much so, we wanted to challenge ourselves as a team outside the office,” said Mr Coote.

“As long term charity partners at the Brisbane Oxfam event, we were inspired to sign up two teams of four to the Brisbane Oxfam 100km walk. This required all 8 team members to be committed to working towards a common goal, and that was to finish together”.

In addition to the two My FootDr & Allsports Physiotherapy teams participation, both groups volunteered podiatrists and physiotherapists at Checkpoint’s 3 and 6 to help patch the walking wounded during the event.
