Healthia announces strategic acquisition of Back in Motion Physiotherapy Clinics and $60 Million capital raising

Healthia Limited is pleased to announce that it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire the Back In Motion Health Group, comprising the shares in BIM IP Pty Ltd, which owns the brands, trademarks and other intellectual property, and the businesses of the 64 Back In Motion physiotherapy clinics

Mr Wesley Coote, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Healthia, said, “We are excited to welcome Back In Motion to the Healthia family. BIM is philosophically aligned with Healthia – I’ve been thoroughly impressed in my dealings with all clinicians across the group and am confident they will continue to provide high quality care to our patients.

In line with our stated growth strategy, the acquisition of BIM marks an exciting chapter for Healthia, adding significant scale to our Bodies & Minds division and expanding our geographical reach into other states and the New Zealand market. Together, we will be the leading provider of physiotherapy services in the country, giving our patients more choice and better service while continuing to focus on exceptional patient outcomes”.

Mr Jason Smith, Founder and Group Director of BIM, said, “I am delighted Back In Motion is joining Healthia. Together, we make an exceptional cultural fit – both being clinician-led, committed to clinical excellence, focused on outcomes and improving quality of care, and concerned for the well-being of our team members. Healthia also has an experienced leadership team with a strong track record of growth and delivering shareholder returns. This transaction is the most significant undertaking in our 21-year history and I’m confident it sets up both BIM and Healthia for a bright future.” Jason will remain involved with Healthia as a strategic consultant and Healthia shareholder.

The Acquisition will cement Healthia’s position as the number one provider of physiotherapy services in Australia and take it another step closer to becoming Australia’s leading allied health operator.
